The European parliament voted yesterday to end the charges on roaming and to enforce net neutrality measures across the European Union.
The end of roaming is a victory for the millions of Europeans who travel inside the European Union, for business or leisure.
The enforcement of net neutrality will make sure that small companies and start-ups will be able to keep running their experimental and smaller products competing fairly for bandwidth with the big corporation, who will not be able get in agreements with internet providers to prioritize their traffic over that of their smaller competitors.
The net neutrality measures also prevent the internet providers from blocking or throttling services that compete with their own offers (as Skype, competing with their own paid voice calls services).
